Rules to be followed:

    Right of use
    The library is open to everybody. However, there are certain rules that the customers will have to comply with if the library is to function smoothly.
    You will get a library card as soon as we have verified your identity. If you are under 15 years, you will need a consent from your quardian. By receiving the card you agree to comply with these library rules.

    Customer's responsibility
    The library card is personal and shall be presented each time you borrow material from the library. Please inform us of any changes in your name and/or address.
    The card-holder is responsible for the material borrowed on his or her library card. The quardian is responsible for the material borrowed on a card held by a child under 15.
    If you lose your card, please report to us immediately. By doing so, you will not be held responsible for any material that may be borrowed on your card after your report.
    Videotapes are lent out subject to the age limit that may be marked on cassette box.
    A person failing to teturn any borrowed material or to pay delay fines shall lose his or her right to borrow from all branches of the library. The right is restored as soon as the material is returned and/or the fines are paid.
    Disorderly conduct may lead to the loss of the customer´s right to use the library.

    Data protection
    The customer data files are only employed for the control of borrowed material. The registered personal data is not accessible to outsiders. Anyone has the right to check his or her own data as provided by the Act on Personal Data Files.

    Loan periods
    The standard loan period is four weeks. There are some exceptions for certain materials. The loan period ends at the library closing time on the due date.
    Any material can be borrowed anew unless it has been reserved by another customer. Loans can be renewed on a visit or telephone call (toll-call service phone) to the library. A loan may be renewed no more than five times witout presenting the material. Borrowed material shall be returned to the same branch where it was lent out.

    Delay costs
    A fine is charged material returned after the due date. The customer shall pay the collection cost.

    Lost or damaged material
    If a customer destroys or loses library material, he or she have to compensate for the damage either by paying the current price of a replacement or bringing a new copy of the lost or damaged material. In addition, we charge the cost of preparing the material for lending.

    Inter-library lending service
    If the customer wishes to borrow material not available in Soini Library´s collections, we shall have it delivered from another library, if possible. Inter-library lending services are subject to national instructions and the rules and charges of the library issuing the loan.

    The user can exercise influence
    You can propose new material to be purchased by Soini Library.
    If you have wishes and remarks about the library´s activity and service, you can approach the library staff. It is alsopossible to give feedback through Internet.

Loan periods and delay fines at Soini library

    Loan periods:

  • Books - 28 days = 4 weeks
  • Video tapes, recordings, periodicals, language course cassettes, CD-ROM publications - 14 days = 2 weeks

    The due date (last day for returning loan) changes daily.
    Borrowers are responsible for complying with the library rules.
    Returned material can be registred only during the opening hours of the library.
    Loans must be returned to the library where they were issued.
    Loans can be renewed also by phone (at most five times) nr (06) 528 2461.
